Our client, a venture capital group headquartered in Charleston, is currently recruiting for a Senior or Manager-level Financial Analyst adept in both accounting and finance. This position is on the Controller track, with initial responsibilities to include:
- Building and maintaining advanced Excel-based tools to help portfolio companies manage and analyze key financial and operational data, including:
- Dynamic financial reporting models
- Inventory analytics and product profitability tools
- Custom operational models based on company-specific inputs
- Collaborating closely with company leadership to understand their financial operations and translate needs into actionable Excel solutions
- Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and usability in all models and reports
- Supporting financial close processes and assist with reporting as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting and finance experience (mix of public and private a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills: ability to build complex, customized tools
Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with portfolio company leadership - Interest in evolving into a Controller role
